(Friendship, Ind.) - It looked like a blue holiday inside The Friendship State Bank and Insurance offices on Tuesday, December 1, but Christmas spirits were soaring. Friendship employees donated $5 and wore a Friendship Blue t-shirt or sweatshirt. They raised $375 to share with The Dearborn County Clearinghouse and Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana. The bank matched this and each organization received a check for $375.
“We really wanted to double-down on our employees’ personal generosity, and step up to help two terrific local charities,” said Friendship CEO and President Chris Meyer. “We strive to set a good example for charitable work throughout the year.”
“The Clearinghouse and CAC make a huge impact on our communities in different ways. It’s a reality check when you visit them. I’m very thankful for the people involved in these places,” said Human Resources Specialist Heather Davies. “Our employees were very willing to donate to these two organizations. Not everyone is available to volunteer their time. Giving monetarily still gives them the opportunity to make difference.”
In place of a company-wide holiday party, employees are participating in the holiday spirit on Tuesdays throughout December. They kicked it off with the recent Blue-Out Tuesday. Employees will don their holiday party attire, red and green, and ugly Christmas sweaters on Tuesdays to follow. They will get ready for 2021 wearing silver and gold on Tuesday, December 29. Friendship invites community members to join them and post pictures sporting their holiday attire to The Friendship State Bank Facebook page.
Friendship teams have decked the lobbies in holiday décor from traditional trees trimmed in red, silver, and gold to white trees decked out in royal Friendship Blue. Many branches are hosting holiday open houses and invite everyone to stop in or drive up for a holiday treat. Follow The Friendship State Bank on Facebook for details and updates.
