BCSC’s Officer Austin Gross Honored with Exceptional Service Award for Region 10

(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville Community School Corporation (BCSC) is proud to announce that Lead School Resource Officer (SRO) Austin Gross has been selected to receive the Exceptional Service Award for Region 10 by the Indiana School Resource Officers Association (INSROA).

This prestigious recognition reflects Officer Gross’s unwavering commitment to student safety, his deep-rooted leadership, and his positive influence on the school environment. As the lead SRO for BCSC, Officer Gross exemplifies what it means to serve with both strength and heart, building a culture of trust, collaboration, and proactive safety across the district.

BCSC Superintendent Paul Ketcham praised Officer Gross for his exceptional impact:

“Officer Gross’s leadership extends beyond the physical aspects of school safety. He has cultivated a positive culture centered around awareness, collaboration, and proactive engagement. His approachable and compassionate demeanor encourages open communication, fostering trust and rapport among students, staff, and the broader community. Students consistently view him as a trusted mentor and advocate, emphasizing his unique ability to balance authoritative responsibilities with genuine care and empathy.”

Officer Gross will be honored at the 2025 Indiana School Safety Conference during the Awards Luncheon on June 19 at the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City. This award highlights the exemplary service and leadership that make BCSC a safe and supportive place for all students and staff.
