(St. Leon, Ind.) - The Batesville and East Central High School Marching Bands are heading to Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis later on this month.

That is the site of the ISSMA Marching Band Scholastic State Finals.

Thirty-two high school marching bands have been selected to participate. The statewide event will be held on Saturday, October 25. Each band is entered in one of two categories Scholastic A or Scholastic B, according to band size and school enrollment.

For East Central, they will compete in the Scholastic A category. Batesville will be performing at the state finals for a second year in a row.

Scholastic B performances will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the Scholastic A performances at 5:12 p.m.

Qualification for the State Finals was based on band performance at the Scholastic Class Prelims held on October 11.

The Scholastic Class A and B Champions will be invited to perform in exhibition at the 52nd Indiana State Marching Band Finals to be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium. The schedules for all ISSMA Marching Band events are made available on our website at www.issma.net.
