(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – An Aurora man has been arrested in connection with a tri-state area theft ring.
Danny “Troy” Dennison, 56, was taken into custody on March 2 and charged with Corrupt Business Influence and Theft (Level 6 Felony).
In January, police received a tip from a concerned citizen that individuals from Dearborn County were involved in the thefts of equipment, such as golf carts from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.
Police executed a search warrant at Dennison’s Chams Way residence in Aurora on March 2. Detectives allegedly seized multiple stolen items, including a golf cart and blacktop roller.
During the follow up investigation, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office and Special Crimes Unit and police from Dillsboro, Aurora, Rising Sun and Lawrenceburg helped recover five other stolen golf carts that were taken from businesses in Mt. Vernon, the Dearborn Country Club and Shawnee Lookout Golf Course.
“Sheriff Shane McHenry and the detectives from the Special Crimes Unit are to be commended for their excellent work in this case,” said Prosecutor Lynn Deddens. “This is the perfect example of the community, law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office working together to bring justice for crime victims and I am grateful.”
A trial date has not been set.
