A rapid response made the difference.

(Dillsboro, Ind.) - Aurora EMS maintains an emergency vehicle at the Dillsboro Fire Station.
The vehicle was strategically placed there to provide a rapid response to Dillsboro residents. Last Friday, a call was received regarding an individual experiencing breathing difficulty.
The emergency vehicle and the initial responders from Dillsboro Fire were on-site within a span of two to three minutes. The situation subsequently escalated into a more critical health concern, and the outcome could have been much different without a prompt response.
The name of the victim and their status is unknown at this time.
As of April, Aurora EMS is staffed with an EMT-B or higher 24/7 and responds to Dillsboro from the Dillsboro Firehouse.
The Aurora EMS vehicle is equipped with needed supplies to provide care until the transport life squad can arrive.
This deployment is a temporary solution aimed at enhancing emergency medical services in the area until a long-term EMS plan can be implemented.
