Another Texting Scam Circulates In SEI

(Batesville, Ind.) - Local police are putting out the warning of another text message scam.

Batesville Police say several people have reported receiving the message claiming to be from Indiana Bank.

The text asks the recipient to call an out of state number. The message also includes different codes to use.

“It appears to be a fraudulent misrepresentation - do not call the number on the text - do not give out personal information to anyone,” said the warning from Batesville Police via Nixle.

This latest scam attempt comes after another warning from Batesville Police earlier this month. In that episode, several people reported receiving a text message falsely claiming to be from Indiana Bank & Trust.
