(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A man who fled police on a motorcycle through downtown Lawrenceburg is facing several charges.
John Kenneth Ross, 27, was arrested on Sunday, September 8. He is in the Dearborn County jail charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon (level 6 felony), Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle (level 6 felony), Criminal Recklessness (class B misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (class B misdemeanor), Driving Without a License, and multiple traffic infractions.
At around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, Lawrenceburg Police were called to a fight involving several people on the 500 block of High Street. As officers arrived, Ross and a female allegedly jumped on a motorcycle and drove away, according to a court affidavit.
He led police on a pursuit through the city’s downtown. He eventually stopped at the intersection of Vine and Center streets and was taken into custody.
Ross was found to be in possession of a 9mm handgun.
The female who fled with Ross was released.
Ross made his initial appearance in Dearborn Superior Court II on Monday, September 9. His bond was set at $25,000 surety and $2,500 cash.
