(Aurora, Ind.) - You’ve been warned: it’s not real.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies will practice their response to a school shooting next week.
An active shooter training exercise will be at South Dearborn Middle School in Aurora on Thursday, December 22, said principal Dr. Todd Bowers.
“This training is an attempt to develop and practice protocol, determine response, evaluate scenarios, and foster positive communications between the agencies and the schools,” Bowers said.
Residents are advised to not be alarmed when police vehicles and emergency response teams are seen heading to the school.
No students will be at the school during the exercise because of Christmas break.
