(Muncie, Ind.) -- A Muncie man is facing attempted murder charges following a shooting over the weekend near Ball State University that left seven people wounded.
Va Shaun Harnett is being held without bond in the Delaware County jail.
The shooting happened early Saturday at an off-campus house party in the 2400 block of West Euclid Avenue. The location is about five blocks from the campus.
Three of the victims suffered critical injuries. Four others were shot, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Only one of the victims was a Ball State student, according to the university.
"Keeping all members of our campus community safe is a top priority," said Ball State University President Geoffrey S. Mearns. "This is a very unfortunate event. We wish all the victims a full and prompt recovery."
Harnett is not a student at the university.
