There are few Indiana firefighters more experienced than Jeff-Craig Fire Department member John Stafford.

(Vevay, Ind.) – For five decades, John Stafford has been putting out fires, rescuing crash victims, and contributing to his community.
Stafford was honored on May 4 for his 50 years of service of a volunteer firefighter. He is active still today with Jeff-Craig Fire Department in Vevay.
Many came to the firehouse to celebrate as he was bestowed several awards. They include:
- State Fire Marshal Meritorious Service Medal
- Indiana Volunteer Fire Association 50 year Achievement Pin
- Indian Volunteer Fire Association Lifetime Membership Card
- State Senator Chris Garten Certificate of Congratulations
- State Representative Randy Frye House Resolution honoring John S. Stafford
- Hurts Power Tools Green Cross Award
- Key to the Town of Vevay
- Recognition Plaque from Jeff-Craig Fire & Rescue
Stafford’s wife, Phyllis, was also honored for years of dedicated service to the community.
