2 Adults, 5 Kids Hurt In Sunman Crash

The wreck happened Saturday night on Weisburg Road.

(Sunman, Ind.) -  Seven people, five of them children, were injured in a rollover crash in Dearborn County on Saturday, August 11.

Sheriff’s deputies say a vehicle driven by Cheryl L. Parker, 61, of Dillsboro, entered the curve on Weisburg Road at Woliung Road at too high a rate of speed just after 9:00 p.m. As Parker braked and turned, the vehicle rolled over two to three times.

The seven occupants of the vehicle were trapped inside. They included Parker, 19-year-old Chris Griswold of Dillsboro, and five children ages nine to 17.

Firefighters and EMTs extricated each of the victims, all of whom were transported to Margaret Mary Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, deputies say.

Deputies say Parker submitted to a blood draw, the results of which are pending.

The sheriff’s department was assisted at the crash scene by Indiana State Police, Sunmane Fire & EMS, Bright EMS, and Manchester EMS.
