Garth Brooks To Be "First" To Play Notre Dame Stadium

Garth Brooks will make history in South Bend, Indiana.

(South Bend, IN)  --  Garth Brooks will be the first artist to play Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana.

The country music powerhouse teamed up former head coach Lou Holtz yesterday to announce the show.  No date has been revealed yet.

“What this represents for us is something beyond words,” Garth said as he announced the show flanked by university execs and College Football Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz. “Other announcements will come as the event gets closer, but…this is a great way to kind of ‘start what’s next’.”

Though the date and other specifics of the event – “one night only” and the only upcoming concert on the horizon for the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year – are still forthcoming, Garth hinted at the event’s significance.

“It will be the beginning and the end of a lot of things for us, as we have known so far. It’s a new page,” he stated. “And I can’t imagine a better way to put that stake in the ground. If we do our job right, it’s going to be an event every time we step onstage.”
