Switz. Co, Milan, JCD, South Ripley Stars Earn Weekly Honors from ORVC

(Vevay, Ind.) - Eight student athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for August 25-30 was released on Wednesday. 

Jac-Cen-Del's Molli Weber and South Ripley's Kaiya Rinear are the ORVC Volleyball Players of the Week. Weber recorded 28 digs in two matches, including her 1,000th career dig. Rinear totaled 30 digs, 23 kills, and eight blocks in two matches. 

Hannah Cooney is the ORVC Girls Runner of the Week. The Milan star ran a 20:25 at South Decatur. The ORVC Boys Runners of the Week are Gabe Riehle, of Milan, and Cavaan Hambrick, of Shawe Memorial. 

Riehle had a time of 16:26 at South Decatur, while Hambrick finished the Switzerland County race in 18:19. 

Switzerland County's Alexis Mangold is the ORVC Girls Golfer of the Week. Mangold carded a 43 at Sportsman's and a 45 at Belterra. 

The ORVC Boys Soccer of Player of the Week is Connor Johnson. The Southwestern star scored 11 goals and assisted on five more in three games. 

Milan's Cassidy Derico is the Girls Soccer Player of the Week. Derico tallied five goals and two assists in three matches.
