Shawe Memorial Athletes Top ORVC Weekly Honors

It was a good week for the Hilltoppers.

(Madison, Ind.) – The hard work of multiple Shawe Memorial High School student-athletes has paid off with weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC weekly report for August 20-25 was released on Tuesday.

Shawe Memorial’s Kristen Snodgrass shared the ORVC Volleyball Player of the Week award with Southwestern’s Keely Fink. In two matches, Snodgrass had 18 aces and was successful on 87 percent of her severs and 99 percent of her sets. Fink was equally impressive with 26 kills, 8 aces, 4 digs and 95 percent serve and 91 percent passing rates.

The ORVC Girls Golfer of the Week went to Shawe Memorial’s Katie Hertz, who shot 47 at Western Hills.

Classmate Henry Grote is the ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week. The Hilltoppers star had three goals and an assist in two matches. On the girls side, Milan’s Lilly Phelps took home the weekly award with two goals and an assist against Southwestern.

The ORVC Runners of the Week were Jac-Cen-Del’s Damon Hughes and Cloey Simon, Southwestern’s Bradley Winston, and Switzerland County’s Leah Anders.
