(Aurora, Ind.) - A South Dearborn High School softball star will continue her playing career at the D-1 level.

Alexis Dittmer signed her letter of intent to the University of Southern Mississippi on Wednesday.

Dittmer, a four-year letter recipient, is a two-time all-conference selection at catcher, and helped led the Lady Knights to a Sectional Championship in 2019.

"Upon speaking with Coach Levin, it was apparent on the type of culture he wanted to create within the softball program. I knew I wanted to be a part of what he was creating. After visiting campus, the community was noticeably supportive and caring. Southern Miss is a friendly campus and it felt like the right fit academically and athletically," Dittmer said.

Dittmer is one of nine signees for Southern Miss' 2021 recruiting class.
