Rising Sun's Merica, Switz. Co.'s Williams Named Hoops Stars of the Week

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Six student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for January 16-21 was released on Wednesday. 

Rising Sun's Peyton Merica and Switzerland County's Jacob Williams were named the Boys Basketball Players of the Week. The two squared off on January 20. It was Switzerland County that came away with the 65-45 win behind 23 points from Williams. Over a two game stretch, Williams totaled 41 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. 

Merica was equally impressive over three games with 54 points, 20 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. 

The ORVC Girls Basketball Players of the Week are Ashley Fulton (Southwestern) and Audrey Barron (Shawe). 

In the swimming pool, Rising Sun's Sidney Halloran and Shawe Memorial's Matthew Vaughn were named the Performers of the Week.
