(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Rising Sun basketball will look different come the 2026-27 season.
Rising Sun Schools has announced the hiring of Lucy (Carrigan) McClellan and Jasen McDaniel.
Both are accomplished former Rising Sun standouts who will lead the girls and boys programs.
McClellan, the new girls varsity basketball head coach, is a 2018 graduate of Rising Sun High School and ranks second all-time in scoring with 1,703 points. McClellan also holds Rivertown Classic records for the most points in a game (30) and most points in a tournament (54).
She takes over for Abby Carrigan, who led the program to a 72-157 record over the past 10 years.
McDaniel takes over as the boys varsity basketball head coach. He is a 1999 graduate of Rising Sun and is second all-time in scoring with 1,374 career points.
He takes replaces Brandon Snodgrass, who went 46-93 in six seasons as head coach.
"These coaches bring energy, leadership, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court and field. We are excited for the future of Rising Sun athletics and the impact they will have on our students and community," reads a statement from Rising Sun Schools.
