Milan 1600 Meter Relay Team Earn ORVC Weekly Honors After Record Setting Performances

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Eight student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC Report for April 29-May 4 was released on Tuesday.

Rising Sun’s Elaina Titkemeyer was named the ORVC Softball Player of the Year. The Shiners’ sophomore went 2-0 in the pitching circle last week, striking out 14 over 12 innings.

The ORVC Baseball Player of the Week is Austin Jenkins. The Southwestern star collected seven hits, five runs, four RBI, three stolen bases, and two doubles in three games.

Rising Sun’s Casey Fletcher earned ORVC Boys Golfer of the Week honors by carding a 37 at Rising Star.

Alexa Yeomans (South Ripley) joined the Milan Boys 1600 Relay Team as the ORVC Track and Field Performers of the Week.

Gabe Riehle, Ethan DeHamer, Ayden Potts and Ben Riehle set new school and Ripley County Meet records in the 1600 and 3200 relays. Their 1600 relay time of 3:27.77 broke a 40-year-old Milan school record.
