Mossburger Breaks Saves Record at Rising Sun, Earns ORVC Weekly Honors

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Five student athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for September 8-13 was released on Tuesday. 

Switzerland County's girls golf team captured the ORVC Championship last Saturday at Sportsman's in Rising Sun. Alexis Mangold was the round medalists with an 85.

South Ripley's Kaiya Rinear is the ORVC Volleyball Player of the Week. She completed 96 percent of serves and added 11 aces, 38 kills, 25 blocks and 65 digs in five matches. 

The ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week is Weston Cumberworth. The Rising Sun star netted five goals in two matches. Maggie Mossburger, who also plays at Rising Sun, is the ORVC Girls Soccer Player of the Week. She made 57 saves in three matches and broke the school record for saves. 

Gabe Riehle (Milan) and Savannah Nussbaum (Southwestern) are the Cross Country Runners of the Week.
