Several area boys and girls soccer teams advanced to the regional over the weekend.

FOOTBALL

Milan 20, Providence 0 - Eagle Country 99.3 Feature Game - Milan improved to 6-2 on the season with an impressive defensive performance. Linebacker Andrew Harrison scooped up and fumble and returned it for a 25-yard touchdown. Offensively, quarterback Parker Lewis had his longest run of the season with a 51-yard touchdown. He also tossed a TD pass to Adam Norman. 

Lawrenceburg 50, Connersville 6 

East Central 56, Greensburg 0 - The Trojans remain undefeated at 8-0. Junior running back Jake Fike led the way with 184 yards and five touchdowns. Ryan Bond went 10/17 for 147 yards and a two touchdowns. Defensively, the Trojans held Greensburg to on 122 total yards. 

South Dearborn 40, Rushville 12 

Franklin County 28, Batesville 14

Oldenburg Academy 20, South Decatur 14

North Decatur 58, Switzerland County 0 

Harrison (Oh.) 36, Little Miami 13

Taylor (Oh.) 13, Madeira 38

 

GIRLS SOCCER

Class 3A Sectional 12 at Mt. Vernon (Fortville) - Championship

East Central 3, Mt. Vernon (Fortville) 0 - Lady Trojan goal scorers were Taylor Whitehead, Hailey Fritz, and Sophie Browndyke. East Central will play Avon in the regional semifinals at New Palestine on Saturday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m.

 

Class 2A Sectional 28 at Lawrenceburg - Championship

South Dearborn 2, Lawrenceburg 0 - Erin Huber starred for the Lady Knights with two goals. South Dearborn will play Tri-West Hendricks in the regional semifinals at Brebeuf Jesuit on Saturday, October 19 at noon.

Class 2A Sectional 27 at Greensburg - Championship 

Batesville 11, Greensburg 0 - Batesville will play Brebeuf Jesuit Prepatory in the regional semifinals at Brebeuf Jesuit on Saturday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. 

 

Class 1A Sectional 45 at Rising Sun - Championship 

Oldenburg Academy 3, Switzerland County 0 - The Lady Twisters advance to the regional semifinals. They will take on Providence on Saturday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. The match will be played at Forest Park. 

 

BOYS SOCCER

Class 2A Sectional 28 at Rushville - Championship

Batesville 1, Rushville 0 - Batesville will play Speedway in the regional semifinals. The match takes place at Greensburg on Saturday, October 19 at noon. 

 

Class 1A Sectional 45 at Jac-Cen-Del - Championship 

Jac-Cen-Del 5, Southwestern 0 - Jac-Cen-Del moves on the Providence regional where they will take on North Posey. Kickoff is scheduled for noon on Saturday, October 19. 

 

VOLLEYBALL

Lawrenceburg 2, Jay County 0 - (25-10, 25-23)
