(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A 10-year-old cowboy from Lawrenceburg is heading to Las Vegas this weekend.

Auston Young is a 5th grader at Central Elementary by day and a bull riding superstar by night.

He has been bull riding since he was just 5-years-old and is currently ranked #6 in the world.

Auston will compete in the MBR (Miniature Bull Riders Association) Last Chance Qualifier rodeo on November 2-3 and World Finals November 6-9. For young bull riders, this is the little league of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders Association).

Not only is Auston representing Lawrenceburg in Las Vegas, but also the state of Indiana and the entire Midwest region.

The Young's have been traveling across the country from Louisiana to Texas since February to collect enough points to secure a Top 10 spot. Only these top 10 competitors are invited to ride in the World Finals.

Once in Las Vegas, competitors will be put to the test of an 8 second ride to earn a score from 1-100.

Auston's best ride was this past Septmeber, in Lockney, Texas, on a bull named One-Eye Jack. With a score of 78.5, he earned a championship buckle.

Dad and coach, Adam Young, trains the young cowboy at their family farm, Greystone Farm.

Auston is also a member of the Southern Indiana Junior Rodeo Association (SIJRA), Midwest Youth Rodeo Association (MYRA), and International Miniature Rodeo Association (IMRA).

In January, he will compete in the IMRA finals in Oklahoma in miniature horse bareback riding and bull riding.

To cheer on Auston, you can watch all MBR & PBR events on the RidePass app.
