(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Several area girls basketball stars have been recognized for excelling in the classroom.
The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association recently announced their 2020-21 Academic All-State Team.
Area student-athletes making the list include:
- Kyla Maxwell - East Central
- Katie Brewer - Batesville
- Camryn Brewer - Franklin County
- Taylor Cooney - Greensburg
- Anna Hubbard - Jac-Cen-Del
- Dillan Hughes - Jac-Cen-Del
- Kaitlyn Sizemore - Jac-Cen-Del
- Abby Haverkos - Oldenburg Academy
- Annaliese Nobbe - Oldenburg Academy
To be eligible for Academic All-State honors, a student-athlete must be a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, have a minimum SAT score of 1110 and a minimum ACT composite score of 25. The athlete must also be a varsity participant in a minimum of 50 percent of the contests in an IHSAA sponsored girls’ sports program.
Greensburg's Anna West, Jac-Cen-Del's Kadee Kuhn and South Dearborn's Megan Howell were named Academic All-State Honorable Mention.
