Greensburg Boys, Batesville Girls Crowned Champs at EIAC Meet

(Batesville, Ind.) - The Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship took place on Saturday at Batesville High School. 

Greensburg's boys won the conference championship behind Joe Hawkins, Xavier Cassis and Quinton Walker, who finished in the top three spots. 

The Pirates had a team score of 31 as Xavier Wade and Patrick Robbins placed 12th and 13th, respectively. 

Bateville placed second, followed by East Central, Rushville and Connersville. The Bulldogs were led by Ethan Rahschulte, who finished fourth overall. East Central's top performer was Abe Hiltz with a 9th place finish. 

South Dearborn junior Tegan Burk had a great showing, placing 6th. Lawrenceburg's Rylynn Head placed 8th. 

Batesville's girls won a tight race at the top of the standings, holding off East Central 32 to 39. Freshman Ava Wade led the way for the Bulldogs, taking first place. Jayla Bedel finished 4th, Sam Adams 7th, Francesca Myers was 9th, Caitlin Raver 11th, Paige Allgeier 14th and Jade Martin 15th. All seven Batesville runners made the all-conference team. 

East Central was led by Callie Bentley. She finished 2nd. Alyssa Donaworth placed 6th, Lily Gambrel 8th, Gabriella Karle 10th, and Faith Harmeyer was 13th. 

Lawrenceburg's Kaelyn Jones placed 16th. South Dearborn's top performer was Reva Geiser, who placed 23rd.
