Gorgeous Weather, Great Turnout For Whiskey City 5K

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – It was an unseasonably warm day for the 6th annual Whiskey City 5K.

Saturday’s event put on by Dearborn County Young Professionals and the Lawrenceburg Lions Club was a big success with 150 individuals participating in the 5K run or walk.

The overall winner was Bryan Wagner, 36, of Lawrenceburg. Wagner crossed the finish line with a time of 18:05.

Following in second was Lawrenceburg 15-year-old Jared Whitelock with a time of 19:54.

The top placing female was Maddie Strong. The 14-year-old from Independence, Kentucky finished the race in 20:08, placing third overall.

Emily Staab, 36, of West Harrison, finished first in the 5K Walk with a time of 34:59.

The annual 5K run and walk is typically the prelude to the Whiskey City Festival at the Lawrenceburg Event Center. This year's event was postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19 concerns.
