Fourteen Named to 2023-24 ORVC Girls Basketball All-Conference Team

Jac-Cen-Del and Southwestern had the most selections with three each.

(Osgood, Ind.) – It is that time of the year for postseason awards.

On Wednesday, the Ohio River Valley Conference named 14 players to the 2023-24 Girls Basketball All-Conference Team.

The all-conference team is highlighted by six total selections from Jac-Cen-Del and Southwestern, the co-conference champions of the ORVC.

Kelsey Borgman, Reagan Hughes, and Julia Meyer represent the Lady Eagles on the all-conference team. The trio has led JCD to a 20-5 overall record (5-1 in ORVC) and a sectional title last weekend. They will play Eminence in a single game regional matchup on Saturday at Southwestern (Shelbyville).

Meyer leads the team in scoring (14.6 PPG) and rebounding (8.2 RPG). Hughes is the team’s second-leading scorer at 12.1 PPG, while Borgman averages 9.9 points and a team-high 2.3 assists.

Rising Sun placed two on the all-conference team. They are Jenna Peelman (9.4 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 3.0 SPG) and the conference’s top scorer and rebounder Alyssa Simpson (16.9 PPG, 12.1 RPG).

South Ripley and Switzerland County also had two selection each. They are Reese Obendorf (11.3 RPG, 6.1 RPG), Claire Samples (8.7 PPG, 3.5 RPG), Halle Archer (71 assists), and Courtney Higgins (10.6 PPG)

Kaiya Rinear (13.1 PPG, 10.2 RPG) was the lone all-conference selection for Milan.
