Four Earn Weekly Honors From ORVC

(Versailles, Ind.) - Student-athletes from South Ripley, Jac-Cen-Del and Rising Sun have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC report for the week of December 7-12 was released on Wednesday.

Jac-Cen-Del’s Paige Ledford was named the ORVC Girls Basketball Player of the Week. The Lady Eagles star totaled 56 points, 34 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals in three games.

Ledford currently leads the ORVC in scoring (18 ppg) and rebounding (10 rpg).

The ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week went to South Ripley’s Cody Samples. The Raiders senior averaged 24.0 points, 4.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals over two games. He also scored his 1,000th career point in a win over North Decatur.

To date, Samples is the conference’s leading scorer at 20.8 ppg.

Nate Graver and Sidney Halloran, both of Rising Sun, are the ORVC Swimming and Diving Performers of the Week.

Graver earned the weekly honor for his performances in the 200-yard Free and the 100-yard Breast, while Halloran excelled in the 500-yard Free and the 100-yard Breast.
