(Lexington, Ky.) – A former South Dearborn High School track & field star has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships.
Grace Quinlan, a senior at Indiana State University, finished 10th in the high jump at the NCAA East First Round. The top 12 advance to the national championships.
Not only did Quinlan punch her ticket to the national championships, but she broke Indiana State’s school record in the high jump by clearing 5-11.25.
Quinlan is one of two Sycamores who will compete at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The high jump will take place on June 8.
Quinlan is no stranger to the big stage. In high school, she was a two-time state qualifier in the 300-meter hurdles.
In 2022, she was a Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference Team selection after finishing as the conference runner-up in the heptathlon.
