(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville High School played host to the IHSAA Girls Track and Field Sectional 24 on Wednesday night.
Fourteen teams competed with East Central coming away with the sectional title.
Team Scores: 1) East Central 143, 2) Batesville 133, 3) Richmond 58, 4) Northeastern 45, 5) Morristown 42, 6) Oldenburg 35, 7) Seton Catholic 33.5, 8) Hagerstown 30.5, 9) Centerville 26, 10) Connersville 23, 11) Tri 18, 12) Rushville 17, 13) Franklin County 15, 14) Union County 5
East Central won four events.
Heather Albrinck set a new Sectional 24 record in the Pole Vault with an 11'6". Callie Bentley was victorious in the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.88.
The 4x400 Relay Team of Leah Toney, Natalie Stenger, Lauryn Huber and Gabrielle Karle crossed the finish line first with a time of 4:06.16. Natalie Stenger, Leah Toney, Gabrielle Karle, and Callie Bentley teamed to win the 4x800 with a time of 9:28.33, setting a new sectional record.
Second place Batesville had four individual sectional champions.
Ava Wade won the 1600 meters with a time of 5:08.13. Jayla Bedle is the sectional champion in the 3200 meter run (11:36.02). Maycee Holtkamp took the High Jump (5'1"), and Ella King broke her own school record in the Shot Put (43'6.5") on her way to winning a sectional title.
