East Central Announces Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022

Six inductees will be enshrined on Saturday, December 9.

(St. Leon, Ind.) -  Six former East Central High School sports stars will be inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

The inductees are Jack Fleckenstein, Tim Hornberger, Eric Ketcham, Alizabeth Moorman, Adam Weber and LaVon Winters.

The Hall of Fame Awards Banquet will take place Saturday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. prior to the boys varsity basketball game.

The inductees will be introduced to the crowd during halftime.

Jake Fleckenstein – East Central High School 2007, Jake was a four year starter in Wrestling and had numerous accomplishments during his high school career. He was a three time Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference (EIAC) Champion, EIAC MVP, four-time Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Sectional Champion, three-time IHSAA Regional Champion, two-time Semi-State Champion and 5th Place IHSAA State Wrestling in 2006 & 2007.  Jake went on to wrestle at Purdue University where he was a four year letterman and accumulated 60 wins.

Tim Hornberger – Sunman High School/East Central High School – 1975, Tim was a four year starter in Baseball and a three year starter in Basketball.  During his high school career he was named team captain, All-Conference, All-Sectional and All-Regional in both baseball and basketball.  Tim played a major roll on the team as they won three Sectional Championships.

Eric Ketcham – East Central High School – 1995, Eric played Basketball during his time at East Central.  His basketball career stats include:  300 Rebounds, 138 Blocked Shots, 800 Points.  Eric was named a McDonald’s All-American Nominee and was a member of the National Honor Society at East Central High School.  He went on to attend Weber State University on a full athletic scholarship and played in a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament.

Alizabeth Moorman – East Central High School 2011 – Alizabeth was a four year starter in Golf, Basketball and Softball, she earned 12 Varsity Letters during her high school career.  In golf – she was named a two-time EIAC All-Conference.  Basketball – three-time EIAC All-Conference, Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association (HBCA) East All-Star, Softball – four-time EIAC Team Champion, two-time IHSAA Sectional Champion, 2011 Indiana South All-Star, Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association (ICGSA) 2nd Team All-State.  Alizabeth attended Illinois Central College and Cincinnati Christian University for basketball scoring over 1,000 points in her career.  Alizabeth is currently the Girls Golf Coach at East Central High School.

Adam Weber – East Central High School – 2005,  Adam was a three sport athlete in Soccer, Basketball and Football. In basketball, he played in the Ripley County Voiture 1047, 40 and 8 All-Star Basketball Game and the East-West All Star Game.  In football he was named a Region X All-Star, Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) All-State.  In soccer he was Second Team All-District 2003, First Team All-District 2004, First Team All-State, All-County and EIAC Defensive Player of the Year.  Indiana Soccer Coaches Association (ISCA) Top-Team Player 2003.  Adam attended Ball State University and was a kicker for football.

LaVon Winters – Contributor, Principal at Sunman High School from 1962-1973 and East Central High School from 1973-1981.  LaVon over-saw the beginning of the Girls Varsity Sports Program, started the Boys Varsity Wrestling Program and moved the varsity football, track and baseball fields to the current campus.
