(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Three local high school football standouts are going to play in the Indiana Football Coaches Association 2019 North-South All-Star Game.

The IFCA announced its all-star team selections Monday. Picked to play with the South all-stars are Milan’s Orrin Schmidt, South Dearborn’s Axel Bell, and East Central’s Caden Browndyke.

Schmidt, a senior with the Indians, is a member of the Mid-Indiana Football Conference all-conference team. In his senior season, the future Franklin College Grizzly made 29 pass receptions for 533 yards and five touchdowns. On the defensive side, he racked up 34 tackles, three sacks, and an interception.

In a senior season which earned him IFCA Senior All-State honors, Axel Bell tallied 51 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Browndyke was the sure-footed kicker for the East Central Trojans over the past three seasons. In his senior season, Browndyke was 67/71 on extra point attempts and made eight of 10 field goal attempts, the longest from 50 yards. Like Bell, Caden was previously named IFCA Senior All-State.

The IFCA all-stars will play in the 53rd North-South All-Star Game to be held Friday, July 12 at North Central High School in Indianapolis.

The South squad will be led by head coach Kevin O’Shea of North Central. The North team’s head coach will be Jason Garrett of Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger.

The complete North and South all-star teams can be found on the IFCA website.
