INDIANAPOLIS - Academic All-State honors have been awarded for the 2022-23 Indiana high school volleyball season.

The Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association recently released their Team Academic honors.

Fifty-one schools earned the distinction of receiving inaugural IHSVCA Team Academic awards, including East Central, Lawrenceburg, and Oldenburg Academy.

Each team accumulated a team GPA of 3.5 for both semesters. The average GPA of all 51 teams was 3.76.

In addition, 22 teams earned USMC/AVCA Team Academic awards.

The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or a 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

Locally, Batesville, Lawrenceburg, and Oldenburg Academy were among the USMC/AVCA award winners.

“The commitment our coaches make to help their student-athletes pursue the best versions of themselves is evident in the academic accomplishments highlighted today.” said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. “Achievement on the court has always been closely tied to success in the classroom which is reflected by the number of championship programs honored.”
