2019 Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown Kicks Off With L'Burg Vs. EC

Eagle Country 99.3 will have full coverage of Tigers vs. Trojans beginning at 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 23.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Friday night lights will shine bright in Lawrenceburg on August 23.

For the 22nd year, the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown will highlight the best teams and players in the tri-state for 11 consecutive weeks.

The 2019 Showdown will once again serve as the official kickoff to the high school football season on Friday, August 23 when the Lawrenceburg Tigers welcome the East Central Trojans to “The Pit” for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

East Central is coming off an 11-2 season that included a sectional championship. For the Tigers, they look to rebound from a disappointing 5-6 season with a more seasoned group.

The Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown will also be the first game for new East Central head coach Jake Meiners, who takes over the program after five years as an assistant coach.

Eagle Country 99.3's Mike Perleberg and Travis Thayer will be on the call. Pre-game coverage with begin at 6:40 p.m.

Other area teams from Ohio and Kentucky are also scheduled to participate in the Showdown.

Harrison (Oh.) will play at Edgewood on September 27, and Conner (Ky.) will host Covington Catholic on October 25.
