Woman Drowns In Kayaking Accident On Whitewater River

Fellow paddlers attempted lifesaving measures while emergency personnel responded.

(Harrison Township, Oh.) – A woman is dead after a kayaking accident on the Whitewater River.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an overturned kayak near the 9100 block of Lawrenceburg Road on Saturday afternoon.

According to a news release, fellow paddlers performed CPR on Bobbie Egan, 60, until emergency personnel could respond to the scene.

However, Egan could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bright, Harrison, Whitewater, Miami, and Colerain Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
