(Hidden Valley, Ind.) – Willie’s Sports Café plans to reopen as soon as possible after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
The positive COVID-19 test was brought to owner Steve Van Wassenhove's attention on Wednesday evening, he said in a letter to Hidden Valley residents. According to Wassenhove, the employee last worked at Willie's four days ago.
Due to the positive test, Willie's will close Thursday, October 29 while cleaning specialists are brought in to disinfect all surfaces.
While the restaurant is closed, all employees will undergo COVID-19 testing, and will need a negative test before being allowed to return to work.
“We will reopen the restaurant as soon as it is safe to do so,” said Wassenhove. “The health and safety of our employees and those we serve is paramount. I apologize for any inconvenience our closing may cause you and look forward to serving you again.”
