(Greendale, Ind.) – It was a rescue of a different kind for Greendale first responders last week.
Members of the Greendale Fire Department, Greendale Police Department, and City Manager Steve Lampert responded to Schnebelt's Pond where a wild bird was stuck in a tree.
According to the Greendale Police Department, the bird got stuck in some fishing line at the top of a tree.
A kayak and tree pruning tools were among the items used in the rescue.
The bird was safely recovered and released.
