Wellness War Launched to Promote Healthy Living in Ripley, Decatur Counties

There are many ways to earn points.

(Ripley County, Ind.) - A friendly competition has been launched to promote wellness. 

The Ripley County Health Department, in conjunction with the Decatur County Health Department, have launched the 2026 Wellness War this week. 

This is a 60-day challenge between the two counties, where residents will battle to accumulate points and chase the championship trophy and bragging rights. 

So, what gets points?

  • Working out --> the more time, the more points
  • Drinking water --> drink at least 64 ounces per day for it to count
  • Getting sleep --> get at least seven hours for it to count
  • Scheduling an annual physical
  • Doing things for your mental health
  • Brushing and flossing your teeth
