(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Mary Wallick of Rising Sun was the first-place winner in the Ohio County Tourism Friday Fun in Rising Sun “Fall-O-Ween” Scarecrow Decorating Contest.
Wallick’s entry, “Sunflower” consisted of a festive scarecrow accented with sunflowers. It was mounted upside down on a vintage hat rack.
The Scarecrow Decorating Contest was part of the Friday Fun event presented by Ohio County Tourism, Inc. The event was sponsored in part by the Indiana Arts Commission through an Arts Project Support Grant for 2024-2025.
Along with the decorating contest, the October 18 event consisted of pumpkin bowling, a pumpkin ring toss, hayrides, arts & crafts vendors, deejay, and food vendors.
The Visitors Center will be hosting a Christmas Fun in Rising Sun, “A Merry Little Christmas Celebration” on Saturday, December 14 from 5-8 p.m. at the 217 N. High Street Visitors Center.
