By Travis Thayer (Undated) - A recent report shows that Indiana is one of the safer places to live in the United States. According to personal finance website WalletHub, Indiana ranks as the 16th safest state in America. Ohio ranked 23rd overall, followed by Kentucky at 27th. The analysis compared all 50 states based on categories ranging from assaults per capita to unemployment rate to climate disasters. The Hoosier state received its highest marks in road safety and workplace safety. Vermont ranked as the most safe state in the U.S. Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Minnesota rounded out the top five. Mississippi was the least safe state.
