Versailles District’s “2024 Trooper of the District” Honored at ISP Awards Ceremony

(Versailles, Ind.) - Indiana State Police Trooper Brian Weigel has been named the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Versailles District

He was recognized by ISP Superintendent Anthony Scott at the annual ISP Awards Ceremony 

Trooper Weigel is a two and a half year veteran of the ISP.

Last year, he had over 1,200 calls for service, over 800 traffic contacts, 97 criminal arrests, and 20 DUI arrests. He additionally investigated 37 crashes.

Weigel’s supervisor nominated him for the award not just for his activity last year but stated that he was being nominated for his “attitude and work ethic.” It was also noted that he has established good working relationships with law enforcement, prosecutors, school personnel, and community leaders.

After being nominated, command staff at the Versailles Post unanimously picked Trp. Weigel to receive the award.

Lt. Adams, Commander of the ISP-Versailles Post, stated, “Trp. Weigel’s work ethic and dedication to the mission of the Indiana State Police has made him worthy of this award. He continues to be an asset to the Indiana State Police and the communities that he serves.”
