A water boiling advisory for Rising Sun residents was lifted Thursday afternoon.
Residents on the 600 and 700 blocks of Main Street were asked to start boiling their drinking water on Monday.
City officials say the tap water is now safe to drink.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Some Rising Sun residents are being advised to boil their tap water.
The city issued a water boiling advisory Monday afternoon just before 3:00 for residents on the 600 and 700 blocks of Main Street.
The boil advisory is in effect until further notice, the city utility company said.
