Update published at 11:31 a.m.: The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of the crash this morning on I-275 at the Indiana-Ohio line. Deputies say Christopher Turner, 35, of Forest Park, was driving a 1997 Mercury Sable on I-275 southbound when he lost control in a curve on wet pavement near the U.S. 50 overpass. His car spun and went through the median into the northbound lanes where the vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet Tracker. Turner died at the scene. Police said the driver of the Tracker was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Speed or impairment are not considered factors in the crash. Update published at 8:49 a.m.: I-275 eastbound has reopened at the scene of the fatal crash at the Indiana-Ohio state line. Update published at 8:06 a.m.: Traffic is moving again on I-275 westbound, going from Ohio into Indiana, past the fatal crash scene. There is a residual backup and motorists should expect delays. Motorists on I-275 eastbound are being permitted to exit at the Lawrenceburg/Greendale exit to U.S. 50 once again. However, the backup has extended across the Carroll Cropper Bridge into Kentucky. Update published at 7:55 a.m.: I-275 westbound is also closed at Kilby Road as crews continue to work the fatal crash scene at the state line. Update published at 7:42 a.m.: Dearborn County Dispatch advises that the off-ramp from I-275 eastbound onto U.S. 50 in Greendale is closed due to a different accident. Traffic is not being permitted to exit I-275. Update published at 7:09 a.m.: One fatality is being reported in the two-vehicle crash that has closed I-275 eastbound at the Indiana-Ohio state line. The on-ramp from U.S. 50 to I-275 eastbound in Greendale remains closed and could remain that way for most of the morning. Traffic coming across the Carroll Cropper Bridge from Kentucky into Indiana is being diverted off of I-275 at the Lawrenceburg/Greendale exit. Motorists can use U.S. 50 to Kilby Road to access I-275 eastbound. Original story published at 6:52 a.m.: (Whitewater Township, Oh.) - Interstate 275 in Whitewater Township is being shut down due to a crash near the Indiana-Ohio state line. The accident happened in Ohio near the 18 mile marker at about 6:30 a.m. Witnesses said it appeared that a vehicle had rolled. Injuries are reported in the crash. Hamilton County authorities are shutting down the eastbound lanes of the interstate. Greendale Police have been asked to shut down the on-ramp from U.S. 50 to I-275 eastbound.
