UPDATE: Police ID Ripley County Homicide Victim

Indiana State Police have released the victim's identity following an autopsy Tuesday. 

Police have confirmed that the victim, Kristina M. Jones, 36, was the victim of a homicide. 

Details about the homicide were not released as the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time. 

 

Updated published Tuesday, January 12 at 7:45 a.m.:

Indiana State Police responded to the scene on Monday around 12:00 a.m. after receiving reports of an unresponsive female. 

Upon arrival, a female was found dead inside a home with apparent injuries that indicated she was the victim of a homicide. 

The victim's identity is being withheld pending positive identification. An autopsy is scheduled for today to confirm the victim's name and cause of death. 

No arrests have been made at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing.

(Holton, Ind.) – Detectives with the Indiana State Police – Versailles District are conducting a homicide investigation in Ripley County.

Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says a homicide investigation is underway on County Road 700 West in rural Ripley County, just north of Holton.

Investigators believe there is no threat to the public at this time, but community members are asked to avoid the area.

Eagle Country 99.3 will update the story when more information is released.
