The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office has released an update on a tractor accident that occurred last Friday on Cook Road in Versailles.
During the investigation, it was determined that the tractor, driven by Joshua Rohrig, 27, of Versailles, was pulling a family hayride when its brakes failed while traveling downhill.
That resulted in the tractor crashing into a ditch.
Robert Lindermann, 61, of Milan, fell from the wagon, landing underneath the tractor tire. Lindermann was able to get out from under the tire before first responders arrived and was later airlifted from the scene with a back injury.
A 28-year-old female and a juvenile sustained injuries and were treated at the scene.
