(Batesville, Ind.) - A couple local healthcare providers have been named among America’s best rural and community hospitals.
The Chartis Center for Rural Health released its list of the top 100 critical access and community hospitals. The rankings use the Hospital Strength INDEX, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance in the U.S.
Margaret Mary Health in Batesville is a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital.
King’s Daughters Hospital in Madison is a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital.
The Chartis Center says the hospitals that make the lists serve as benchmarks for other rural facilities.
“Amidst uncertainty, transition and strain, these top performers are excelling in managing risk, achieving higher quality, securing better outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction, and operating at a lower cost than their peers,” the center says.
