Two Arrested in Franklin Co. After Deputies Serve Search Warrant

The Franklin Co. Sheriff's Department announced the arrests on Saturday.

(Franklin County, Ind.) – Two people have been arrested on drug charges after a search warrant was served at a St. Mary’s Road home.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, John O. McNabb, 44, of Brookville, and Mark D. Hinson, 43, of Liberty, were taken into custody without incident on September 8.

After applying for and receiving a search warrant, sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 12000 block of St. Mary’s Road.

Deputies allegedly located heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, syringes, and other drug paraphernalia.

McNabb was initially charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Level 6 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).

Hinson is facing charges of Visiting a Common Nuisance (Class B Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor) and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).

McNabb is held in the Franklin County Security Center on $2,055 bond. Hinson has since been released.

McNabb is facing up to two and a half years in prison, while Hinson could receive up to 180 days in jail.
