(Burlington, Ky.) - The NKY Military-Veteran Coalition is hosting their second annual Troops and Treats for Trunk and Treat event Friday, Oct 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kentucky National Guard Readiness Center, 2676 Conrad Lane, in Burlington.

This free event is a way to provide a safe Halloween experience for all and to bring the military and civilian community together. There will be contests for best trunk decoration and costumes. In addition to Halloween goodies, there will be military, veteran and family resource tables for guests to grab information and brochures.  Kick It Up Mobile DJ Services will be on-hand with music to get everyone into the Halloween spirit.  There will also be a USO sponsored Bounce House for the little ones to burn off some of that treat-fueled energy. Military vehicles will be on display, and a Police K-9-unit demonstration.

Last year the event was an overwhelming success with over 1,000 children, plus guests in attendance.  Coordinator, Robin Pruitt, said “2017’s Trunk or Treat was a tremendous success for the children and the adults alike.  The kids had a ton of fun, and the adults were able to get information about resources available for them throughout NKY. This year it promises to be even better!”

This event is conducted Rain or Shine!  If weather gets in the way, we will move indoors (like last year).

For more information or to register for a Trunk Space, call Robin Pruitt at 502-607-3552 or email at robin.n.pruitt.ctr@mail.mil.
