A motorist was transported from the scene near Cross Plains on Thursday morning.

(Cross Plains, Ind.) – One person was transported to the hospital when a pickup truck struck a utility pole Thursday morning.
The Friendship Volunteer Fire Department said it responded to the crash with injuries in the area of State Road 62 and State Road 129 just before 9:00 a.m.
A pickup had gone off the roadway and hit a utility pole. The collision was strong enough to snap the utility pole and bring down wires.
State Road 129 was closed while the pole was removed and replaced.
The fire department was assisted by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, Rescue 69, Ripley County EMS, and Southeastern Indiana REMC crews.
