(Gallatin County, Ky.) - Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, crews will close Exit 55 (KY 1039) on-ramp to I-71 southbound.
During the closure, the project will include ramp work, milling and paving operations, ramp widening and shoulder work.
Due to the scope of work, the ramp will be closed continuously for an extended period during this phase of the project. A signed detour will be in place utilizing I-71 northbound to Exit 57 (KY 35/Sparta Pike) to reenter I-71 southbound.
Weather permitting, the ramp closure is expected to be in place through Sunday, May 10.
Additionally, a single lane closure on I-71 southbound between Exit 55 and Exit 57 will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, to allow crews to adjust the barrier wall. The lane is expected to reopen by 8 a.m. on Monday, April 27.
This work is being performed as part of the ongoing I-71 widening project on an approximately 4.59 mile portion of I-71 in Gallatin and Carroll counties. You can learn more about the project here (https://bit.ly/ViewActiveProjects)
