Switzerland Co. School Corporation Updates Parents, Students On Upcoming School Year

Students will return to school on August 12.

(Switzerland Co., Ind.) - After Governor Holcomb’s announcement of mandatory masks that will take effect Monday, July 27, Switzerland County School Corporation is informing parents and guardians of what this means for the corporation.

Students will still return to school on August 12. Masks and water bottles will be provided to every student.

Additional information will be given as the executive order is released; however, at this time general information for the corporation, includes:

  • Masks will be provided to students at no cost. No parent will be required to purchase a mask unless you choose to do so on your own. All masks must be school appropriate like any other dress code item.
  • From the executive order children grades 3-12 will be required to wear a mask on the bus, at school during certain times, during co-curricular and extra curricular activities. These currently exclude times of strenuous activity, while eating and drinking, and when social distancing is possible.
  • Any student with a medical condition preventing you from wearing a mask may be excluded from wearing a mask also. (A doctor’s note will suffice in proof of condition)

The corporation is encouraging parents and guardians to enroll or update registration through as soon as possible.

"Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you August 12," says Mr. Rod Hite, Superintendent Switzerland County School Corporation.
