Switzerland Co. ID'd as Victim of Fatal Crash

(Carrollton, Ky.) - Kentucky State Police were called to a fatal collision involving a passenger car and motorcycle on Friday, August 1.

The crash took place around 3:11 p.m. on Ladder Lane.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Ernie Proffitt, a 68-year-old man from Florence, Indiana, was operating a 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Ladder Lane. Elvis Soza Alarcon, a 51-year-old man from Carrollton, Kentucky, operating a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, crossed the center line colliding with Mr. Proffitt.

Proffitt was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by KSP Post 5 in Campbellsburg.
